A Specialist Course for People Who Stutter

Despite extensive speech therapy I still had the speech impediment when I was in my twenties. What I really needed was some form of specialist course for stuttering.
 
“This speech therapy is not working dad. I have been attending different speech therapists for as long as I can remember but I the stutter is now even more severe than ever. Are there any specialist type courses for people who stutter, specialising in helping people who stutter to achieve fluency?

Speech therapy is designed to help people who have a range of speech defects or speech impediments and the speech therapists have not actually had a stutter themselves.”
 
The above was a conversation that I had with my father when I was a teenager. I was becoming quite desperate at this stage to find a cure for the stutter as it was starting to take a grip on my life.
 
My parents were very supportive of me and did try to find a suitable course or stuttering treatment. They were aware of how much the speech impediment was affecting my life and were determined to help me as much as they possibly could.
 
At the age of twenty-two after having had the stutter for fully eighteen years, I managed to find the answers that I had been looking for and was able to eradicate the stutter from my life for once and for all.
